Pool Etiquette
The safety and enjoyment of all our guests is important to us. We ask that you follow a few simple tips to make sure you have a fun and safe experience at Te Hiku Sports Hub.
Hydrotherapy Pool Etiquette
- Always remember our hydrotherapy pool is a shared space
- Look out for others and follow the directions and instructions from staff
- Every child aged between 0 – 3.5 years must wear an Aqua Nappy at all times. Nappies can be purchased from reception.
The hydrotherapy pool operates with adult-only hours. Times for adult-only use are as follows:
Monday to Friday | 6 – 8am, 11am – 3pm, 6pm – close |
Weekends | 9am – 11am |
Times are subject to change due to pre-organised group bookings.
Guests are welcome to use our 25m lap pool or toddlers splash pad during these times.
25 Metre Lap Pool Lane Etiquette
Pick the most suitable lane to swim in based on your lap time:
Slow Lane | 45 seconds+ per lap |
Medium Lane | 30 to 45 seconds per lap |
Fast Lane | Less than 30 seconds per lap |
To ensure a comfortable swim for everyone please follow the below etiquette guidelines:
- Swim to the left of the lane/black line at all times
- When at the end of the lane, keep to the side to ensure other swimmers have room to turn
- Only overtake mid lap if safe to do so (when there are no swimmers coming in opposite direction)
- Please don’t stop in the middle of a lap unless you are physically required to
